Student Financial Aid

Students applying for the EMT program, at the Alberta Health and Safety Training Institute are eligible for student financial aid through their province of residency. Our Institute is recognized by the Alberta and Federal Government as a registered private vocational school and students are eligible for Alberta Student Funding and Canada Student Funds.

Alberta residents normally apply for student financial aid through Alberta Student's Finance, which is available through their website at www.alis.ab.ca/studentfinance. Students applying for government financial assistance will be assessed for loans, grants and bursaries based on their level of financial need.

Another source of funding is through your financial institution in the form of RESP grants. The Alberta Health and Safety Training Institute is registered with the federal government (HRDC) as a certified institution allowing students to use their RESP contributions to finance their tuition. Check with the office if you need further information regarding this funding source.

All students are welcome to access a student loan through their bank of choice, or AHASTI has a partnership with Apex Credit Union in Calgary. Apex Credit Union has been working with students in most of the major educational institutions in Calgary for many years and offers student loans at competitive rates.
