Recertification - CPR Health Care Provider
This is a recertification course designed for candidates that have a current CPR-Health Care Provider certification from a first aid training agency.
Content
The following items are covered in this Recertification - CPR Health Care Provider class:
- Adult/Child/Baby CPR - one person CPR
- Adult/Child/Baby choking
- Barrier device/pocket masks
- Automated External Defibrillator Certification
- Rescue Breathing is taught at this level
- Adult/Child/Baby – 2 rescuer CPR (30:2 ratio - Adult and 15:2 ratio - child and baby)
- Bag Valve Mask
- This level meets all ILCOR guidelines

Prerequisites
The following are the prerequisite that a student is required to have before being allowed into this course:
- You must bring your valid/current CPR Health Care Provider certificate to the course. You are permitted to attend a recertification if the recertification course is prior to your expiry date on the card. Any candidate that does not bring their certification card, may attend the recertification as scheduled, however they will NOT be given a new certification card until the previous card is produced. It must be produced within 7 days of the recertification course. It can either be faxed to the office at 403-262-6982 attn: First Aid Coordinator or in person during regular office hours. A new certification card will be issued at that time and can either be mailed or pick up by the candidate. After 7 days, the candidate will be recorded as a fail and a refund will not be available.
- Any candidate that has registered in a recertification course with an expired award will be removed from the course. A refund will not be available however the candidate can transfer to a full course and pay the difference in course fees at the time of the transfer.
- Please be aware that there is NO GRACE PERIOD on certifications. The expiry date is final and AHASTI is not permitted to make exceptions.
Description
Completion Criteria:
•Ability to comprehend and successfully demonstrate the skills and pass a knowledge evaluation with a minimum mark of 75%
• Participants must attend and participate in 100% of the course
Certifications Earned
Upon successful completion of this program you will have earned the following tickets:
- Certification Card
- Certification is valid for 3 years
