IAPD - Emergency Vehicle Driving

In 1976 the International Academy for Professional Driving (initially called National Association of Police Driving) was formed to improve police driving skills and reduce accidents. The unique concept of low speed, high stress training provided effective results and created a driver training sensation. No longer was it necessary for police departments to run high-speed programs at high risk to both driver and vehicle. The idea soon drew attention from the news media and IAPD has been featured on the CBS television program 60 Minutes and other national and local news broadcasts.
